Gingit, 6 year old female Miniature Poodle-cross / Owners, Steven & Leslie Sonnenstein
Gingit was adopted from a shelter as a young adult and was a cherished companion to her owners. Along the way, Gingit developed some bad habits that were potentially dangerous and causing stress to her family. She was reacting aggressively when groomed, handled or approached; she barked at other dogs on leash, growled if any unknown person attempted to touch her and exhibited high levels of anxiety when guests were in the house causing her to bark and spin in circles incessantly. Gingit’s owners were at their wit’s end when they called PUP and were highly motivated to work with Gingit since they were expecting their first child in a matter of months. Afraid of how Gingit might react to the baby’s arrival without a complete intervention, she was brought to PUP for an Intensive Rehab program. Gingit has since become a playful friend to many dogs and people and is a calm family member and loving canine sister to baby Katie. She now allows her owners to approach her for grooming and has discovered the many joys of life.
A message from Steven & Leslie:
"We would be lost without Zoe and the PUP team!!! Not only have they helped to make our Gingit a calmer, more relaxed, and more sociable pup, they have made her as much a part of their family as she is a part of our own. To Zoë, and everyone at PUP, we are so very grateful to you for all of your hard work and dedication to Gingit's rehabilitation. Thank you!!!"
