Sharing your life with your dog is an extremely rewarding experience. Training your dog should be too.
There is a revolution happening in dog training. It’s called Positive Training and it has been steadily growing in popularity in the last decade, making forced-based dog training methods extinct. The word “positive” in Positive Training refers to the use of positive reinforcements (treats, praise, affection, etc.) as rewards for good behaviour. The principle behind positive reinforcement is that all positively rewarded behaviours are repeated behaviours. Positive also means that dog training should be a pleasurable experience for both human and dog.
PUP Training enhances and nurtures the bond you share with your dog. PUP’s positive and motivational training philosophy fosters healthy relationships, while showing you how to become an effective leader. We will help you to teach your dog clear boundaries that will improve their behaviour and enhance their quality of life.

The flat collar is commonly made from leather, nylon and fabric and is fastened with a buckle or a quick-release clasp. A flat collar should be snug but not tight nor loose—you should be able to slide two fingers between the collar and your dog's neck. Flat collars don't provide much control, and an excited dog can slip out of one. A flat collar is the only collar that should be used on a puppy. |

A 6’ nylon or leather leash is the most basic and important dog training tool at your disposal. Consider your leash a telegraph wire between you and your dog, if you are tense or anxious it will travel down the line and influence your dog’s behaviour. So, take a deep breathe and enjoy your time with your dog! |

Your puppy or older dog’s crate should be a fun, safe and relaxing space, not unlike a play pen for a young child. Choosing to crate train offers you the peace of mind of knowing that your dog is safe and happy in those times that you are out of the house or unable to supervise behaviour. The proper use of a crate will also prevent your dog from developing bad habits such as inappropriate chewing, house soiling and jumping on the furniture while you are busy with other things. |
